That’s TV, the British archive TV channel, has announced it will broadcast the BBC sitcom 2Point4 Children, starring Gary Olsen, Belinda Lang, and Julia Hills. The announcement was posted on their social media alongside a video clip of the series. The channel has previously aired the Christmas episodes.

2point4 Children is a British sitcom that first aired on BBC One. Created by Andrew Marshall, the series spanned 56 episodes over eight seasons from 1991 to 1999.

This is a once mainstream sitcom that turned into a cult favourite, and now it makes a last-minute addition to the schedules of That’s TV. I remember watching episodes around the time of their first airing, and a revisit some years later didn’t turn out as I expected.
People mistakenly remember this show as a standard family sitcom from the 1990s, hence inevitable complaints about the timeslot. When you watch past the first series or two, it gets darker and surreal. It has closer ties in tone to One Foot in the Grave than a cosy family sitcom. It’s made even better by an excellent cast, headed by the amazing Belinda Lang and the late Gary Olsen.
