Hello there! A few months ago, I announced that I wanted to write a book about the former ITV regional company Television South (TVS). Since publishing a blog post on this website, I have received a number of emails inquiring about the point at which my research is currently. I have replied to each communication, but I thought it wise to update on a public scale.
I still maintain enthusiasm for the TVS story and its many interesting pathways. I have recently looked up a wide array of related subjects, from James Gatward, Fraggle Rock and Granpa to Maidstone Studios. I am mentally noting things all the time. There will come a time when I start to write down and collate all this information but now doesn’t appear to be the right time. For things to be done properly, and respectfully, I have to formulate a structured writing plan. Factoring my personal, family and work commitments into the equation, this isn’t wholly possible right now.
I had intended to get to things sooner, but life inevitably gets in the way. I have had a number of mental health issues over the past six months, which had to be addressed before I committed to anything long-term. Although I can’t promise anything, I am hoping to be back on the research trail by the end of the year. Then I will endeavour to conduct interviews and assemble text from the research. I shall be seeking support and advice in constructing a research plan in the meantime.

My Dad worked on Fraggle rock with Fulton Mackay and the dog, In the lighthouse if of any interest. I’m looking for a theme tune used in 1982-4 on TVS I’m pretty sure, early evening news type programme. Can’t find anything on Google search
