Audiences get to jet off with Mr Spoon once more, as an iconic TV old school classic comes to ITVX Premium.
Today, the classic children’s TV series Button Moon was added to ITVX Premium.
Made by Thames Television, Button Moon was first broadcast on ITV between 1980 and 1988; Running for 91 episodes over 7 series. Narrated by Robin Parkinson, each ten-minute episode featured Mr. Spoon’s adventures on Button Moon, which he travels to in his homemade rocket ship. Sandra Dickinson and Peter Davison sang the memorable theme tune.
At the time of writing, the episode “The Persian Market” (S2 E8) is not included as part of the collection. It is unknown why this has been missed. It could relate to outdated content, or simply be an error.
Also added to ITVX Premium today are the first two series of Willo the Wisp, narrated by Kenneth Williams. This joins a large variety of old school children’s programming including Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, Bagpuss, The Clangers, Worzel Gummidge and more.
