He Ain’t Heavy, a poignant, moving, intimate story comes to Eastbourne’s Devonshire Park Theatre from 23-24 October 2018.
The story centres around Grania, whose brother Sean is autistic with severe learning disabilities and epilepsy, and explores growing up with a sibling who faces challenges every day.
A wonderful experience, this beautiful production tells a sensitive story filled with deep love and affection, using puppetry, physical theatre and audience interaction. We learn how growing up with Sean and his unique take on life has shaped and influenced his big sister Grania.
Grania herself says: “When people ask me about my brother I usually give them the short answer; he has severe learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism. He Ain’t Heavy is the long answer. As Sean cannot go on a national tour due to a love of routine and no concept of theatre, we are going to bring him into the room in other ways.”
Oddly Moving presents two 60 minute performances, the first at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 23rd, and 2.30 pm on Wednesday 24th October.
