Talking Pictures TV have announced that the mystery thriller Dangerous Knowledge will air again on the channel.
Dangerous Knowledge stars British film and television stalwart John Gregson, as Bill Kirby. Kirby is posing as an insurance salesman, returning on the ferry to England from France. When a fellow passenger turns up dead, Kirby is pursued back to England by two suspicious characters. It turns out that he is actually an agent of sorts, but whose side is he on? He aligns himself with innocent girl Laura, played by Prunella Ransom, who helps him evade his pursuers.
Add into the mix a complicated relationship with his ex-wife, his desire to help his son get the qualifications he needs to pursue his chosen career, and an apathetic sort of patriotism; this series is an absorbing and intriguing one.
John Gregson is perfect casting in this grown-up spy thriller. He is surrounded by a strong supporting cast including Prunella Ransom, Patrick Allen, David Gwillim and Ralph Bates.
Dangerous Knowledge was produced by Southern Television. It was first broadcast on the ITV Network in 1976, after the sad passing of its star John Gregson. The series consists of six 30-minute episodes.
Talking Pictures TV previously aired the series on their channel as part of their celebration of John Gregson on the 100th anniversary of his birth, in 2019. The celebration included broadcasting the surviving audio of his This is Your Life episode, documentary and interview with his widow Thea Gregory, as well as airing several of his films.
