British channel Rewind TV will broadcast the classic sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, starring Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Conrad Bain and Dana Plato. The series will begin on the channel on the 6th of January 2025.
What is Diff’rent Strokes?
Diff’rent Strokes is an American sitcom that first aired on NBC and then later transferred to ABC. Created by Jeff Harris and Bernie Kukoff, the series spanned 189 episodes over eight seasons from 1978 to 1986.
Diff’rent Strokes follows the lives of two brothers, Arnold and Willis Jackson, who are taken in by wealthy businessman Philip Drummond after the death of their mother. Alongside Gary Coleman as Arnold and Todd Bridges as Willis, the cast featured Conrad Bain as Mr. Drummond and Dana Plato as his teenage daughter, Kimberly.
What is Rewind TV?
Rewind TV is a British channel on Sky (190) and Freeview (95). It features several classic television shows and movies from around the world. The schedule has included ITC series including Department S and The Prisoner. Other broadcast shows, some of which haven’t been aired for some time, include The Cuckoo Waltz, Worzel Gummidge Down Under, Monkey and Hancock. The channel also airs rarely seen programming from the Westard Television and TSW archives.
The channel has recently started airing a large amount of classic American programming. Titles include Married With Children, Bewitched Fantasy Island and Police Woman. I Dream of Jeannie is due to be aired very soon.

I remember a time when some areas of American popular television were hard to get on free-to-air networks. Now, Rewind TV is providing the goods for those who have longed to see these highly regarded American cultural milestones. Now I will finally understand the endless references to Gary Coleman in American culture, especially his catchphrase from this series.
I know there is some opposition to the addition of American material, but I love that they are providing a great deal of variety. Many of the shows they are getting have rarely had airings on British television in the last 20 years. I look forward to seeing what this show is all about.
Diff’rent Strokes will begin airing on Rewind TV on the 6th of January 2025. It will be broadcast every weekday at 11:30am, then repeated at 5pm. Please see the channel’s schedule for further information.
