Fabulous Films has hinted that it is to release the 1980s animated series Button Moon on DVD. On their Facebook page, they have replied to enquiries with the news that the complete series is on its way to physical media soon.
Made by Thames Television, Button Moon was first broadcast on ITV between 1980 and 1988; Running for 91 episodes over 7 series. Narrated by Robin Parkinson, each ten-minute episode featured Mr. Spoon’s adventures on Button Moon, which he travels to in his homemade rocket ship. Sandra Dickinson and Peter Davison sang the memorable theme tune.
This news follows Fabulous Films’ recent run of classic Thames Television children’s content on DVD. These include Count Duckula, Chorlton and the Wheelies, Jamie and the Magic Torch and Wind in the Willows. The original series of Danger Mouse is expected to follow soon.
