Rewind TV has announced its intention to air the American Fantasy Drama Fantasy Island, starring Ricardo Montalbán and Hervé Villechaize. Although specific broadcast dates have not been revealed, the channel’s social media indicates it will be “coming soon.”
What is Fantasy Island?
Fantasy Island originally aired on ABC from 1977 to 1984. It ran for 152 episodes over 7 seasons. Created by Gene Levitt, the show is set on a mysterious island where guests, arriving by plane each episode, have their deepest wishes granted, often with unexpected twists. Each fantasy is overseen by Mr. Roarke, who guides guests through their sometimes surreal or life-changing experiences.
Fantasy Island also featured lots of guest stars over seven seasons, including Carol Lynley, Roddy McDowall, Leslie Nielsen, Michelle Phillips, Phil Harris Don Knotts and many more. The show was later revived in the 90s, and again in 2021.
What is Rewind TV
Rewind TV is a British channel available on Sky (190) and Freeview (95). It features several classic television shows and movies from around the world. The schedule has included ITC series including Department S, Jason King and The Prisoner. Other broadcast shows, some of which haven’t been aired for some time, include The Cuckoo Waltz, Trouble in Mind, Worzel Gummidge Down Under, Monkey and Hancock.
Recently, the channel has been broadcasting rarely-seen gems from the Westward and TSW libraries, including the 1980s game show That’s My Dog.

Woah! Where did this come from? It’s amazing to see Rewind TV thinking outside the box, and adding to their other leftfield classic American show announcements of Married with Children and Police Woman.
This is one of those shows full of famous American faces of the 20th century, too many to mention! Fantasy Island is a show I have been eager to see for that very reason, an amazing addition to the already packed Rewind TV schedule.
