ITVX has announced that all episodes of Gerry Anderson’s Fireball XL5 will be available to stream on its platform.
Fireball XL5 first appeared on TV screens in 1962, and ran for one series of 39 episodes. The futuristic series centres around space craft Fireball XL5 and its crew as they encounter astronautical threats and alien communities. Paul Maxwell, Sylvia Anderson, David Graham and John Bluthal provide the voices for the main characters.
The series was made using the Andersons’ unique Supermarionation process. Other series using this technique include Four Feather Falls, Thunderbirds and Stingray.
The title will be uploaded on the 14th of April, the 95th anniversary of the birth of Gerry Anderson. Other Anderson-related titles dropping that day include Century 21, Slough (2018) and Stand By For Action! Gerry Anderson in Concert (2022).
The complete series of Fireball XL5 will be available to stream on ITVX from the 14th of April 2024.
