It has been announced that the 90s sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart, starring Nicholas Lyndhurst, will be coming soon to That’s TV. The TV channel made the announcement via their social media.
Created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the time travel sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart ran for 59 episodes over 6 series between 1993 and 1999 on BBC1. It returned for a one-off special in 2016. The series also featured Victor McGuire, Michelle Holmes, Dervla Kirwan and Christopher Ettridge. Holmes and Kirwan were later replaced by Emma Amos and Elizabeth Carling.
It follows the life of Gary Sparrow (Lyndhurst), who discovers he can travel back to wartime London in the 1940s. With the help of his friend Ron (McGuire), he leads a double life with a wife in the 1990s and a girlfriend in the 1940s.
The series has been repeated regularly on channels over the last twenty years; It has seen previous reruns on Forces TV and ITV3. It is also available to stream on ITVX and Britbox.
The addition of this show to the That’s TV lineup follows recent airings of Sykes, Sorry!, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum and more.
Goodnight Sweetheart will begin airing on That’s TV on Wednesday 20th 2023 at 7:50pm. It will continue daily at the same time. Please see the channel’s schedule for further information.
