An Interview with Fran Z. James-Ramirez

Continuing our series of interviews with unsigned and independent acts, we had the opportunity to submit questions to US-based singer-songwriter Fran Z. James-Ramirez.

How would you describe your music?

“Christian and Gospel.”

What inspires you to write?

“I didn’t know I could write songs until April 28, 2013. I wrote my first song that day. Melodies, scriptures, and phrases flow out of me at any given place, at any given time. Basically, I am no longer bound to an IT career in corporate America anymore. Now, I am free to write and sing about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It must be FREEDOM that inspires me. Now, I can see, feel, and love things that I couldn’t before, now that the noise from that life is over.”

Have you any upcoming or recent releases?

“My debut album, God’s Songs was released in May 2017. Promoting this album and securing events is my focus.”

Do you gig, and what are they like?

“I have mostly performed in choirs at church programs, university concerts, charity, and community outreach events.”

Have you ever considered coming to the UK to tour?

“I would consider it.”
