Interview: JuiceBox

Continuing our series of written interviews with unsigned and independent acts, we had the opportunity to submit questions to London based 3 piece band, JuiceBox.

1) How did the band form?

Me (Tom) and Anton our bass player met at University in Wembley and started making some tunes our my flat. then we met Alex online and started properly together in September 2017.

2) How would you describe your music?

We tend to label ourselves as Alt Rock but we definitely have Britpop and post-punk influences that you can hear. We have quite a varied sound across our music so the best way to understand would be to come and check us out.

3) What inspires you to write music?

The inspiration for us comes from anything really. A lot of the lines we write can often be things we’ve overheard people say; so I scribble them down and create something with them later. The main theme of our music is emotion, it’s all about a mood or a feeling that we all go through and I find people easily connect with that.

4) Tell us about your latest release

Our Debut single ‘Perfume’ is a song about loss, whether it’s the divorce of parents, the collapse of a relationship, or the death of a loved one. But more so it’s about coming out the other side stronger and looking back positively on what you had. The song is hard hitting from the start and takes you on a journey through that feeling.

5) What are your gigs like?

Pretty loud, full of energy and packed with passion. We just try to have a good time and make sure everyone else is having a good time too. The atmosphere at our gigs has been amazing so far but that’s all down to our unbelievable loyal and growing fanbase.
