Interview: Young Meishy

Continuing our series of interviews with unsigned and independent acts, we had the opportunity to submit questions to artist Young Meishy.

1) How would you describe your music?

My music is very creative and I create music that appeals to everyone, not just the kids, not just the old heads, everybody.

2) Where did the title for your album come from?

The album name “Dreamer Boy” came from what inspired the album, that was the passing of Lil Peep, he said “ I’m A Dreamer Boy” and that hit me heavy, When your on the come up dreaming about the rewards of all the hard work you put in is your fuel to keep going . If you can dream it you can achieve it.

3) What the inspiration for songwriting?

My inspiration for the songs on “Dreamer Boy” vary from songs boasting about my rap skills-to me spitting about cherishing time-to me letting it all out about my feelings for the girl of my dreams. There’s a song for everyone here and with some chill peep inspired beats, it’s easy on the ears and brain.

4) Are there any plans for any future releases?

Honestly, I plan on releasing a few singles this summer alongside shooting a few music videos, but I probably won’t release another album until next year. (Not saying I’m not already working on it tho ?)

5) How would you describe your live gigs?

All the live shows I’ve done so far in my career have been absolutely amazing, with high attendance and always 3/4 of the capacity full, My highlight and basically, my debut show was performed at a local theater and had almost 1,500 people in attendance.
