JK Historian

Continuing our series of written interviews with unsigned and independent acts, we had the opportunity to submit questions to JK HISTORIAN.

How did you form?

We formed in early 2018 with a shared interest in doing something different from previous projects.  Tom, Will and James  have played in touring bands extensively over the last few years..  Ben is a guitar maestro we found in Scotland.  The name comes from James, who is a legit historian.  It’ll look nice on a t-shirt.

How would you describe your music?

Post-hardcore, but with a twist of art punk, post-rock and jazz.  We take influences from bands that don’t pay that much attention to genre.  Lyrically, we like the surreal balanced with a healthy dose of social and global commentary.

Are you currently working on any recorded material?

We’ve recently released a single and are putting together an EP which will be out later this year.

What are your gigs like?

We haven’t played any yet – but we will very soon.   They’ll be killer.

What are your plans for the future?

Gigs, record more music, repeat.  Maybe a European tour if Brexit will let us.
