In a first for the British archive channel, Rewind TV have announced plans to broadcast a classic American sitcom. No broadcast dates have been revealed yet, but Married with Children has been confirmed as “coming soon”.
What is Married with Children?
Married with Children is an American sitcom that originally aired on the Fox network from 1987 to 1997. Created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt, the show follows the dysfunctional Bundy family, led by Al Bundy, a bitter and sarcastic shoe salesman, and his lazy, self-indulgent wife, Peggy. Their children, Kelly, a dim-witted party girl, and Bud, a socially awkward but scheming teen, round out the household.
The show ran for 259 episodes over 11 seasons and 259 episodes. The main cast featured Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino.
What is Rewind TV
Rewind TV is a British channel available on Sky (190) and Freeview (95). It features a number of classic television shows and movies from around the world. The schedule has included ITC series including Department S and The Prisoner. Other broadcast shows, some of which haven’t been aired for some time, include The Cuckoo Waltz, Worzel Gummidge Down Under, Monkey and Hancock.
In recent times, the channel has been broadcasting rarely seen gems from the Westward and TSW libraries, including the 1980s game show That’s my Dog.

Just when I think Rewind TV couldn’t surprise me any more, this announcement appears out of the blue. This is a sitcom which helped put the Fox network on the map. It was shown here, but mainly on late night ITV from what I have read.
Depending on when this is scheduled, Rewind TV is about to give this classic sitcom a chance at a whole new audience in Britain.
