Disney Plus has added the 1981 concert film Queen Rock Montreal to the platform.
Recorded at the Montreal Forum in Quebec on the 24th and 25th of November 1981 during the final concerts of The Game Tour, it has seen several releases over the years. Previously released on VHS under the title We Will Rock You, its current name was first utilised for a CD, Vinyl, Blu-Ray and DVD release in 2007.
The film was remastered and released in IMAX cinemas in late 2023. On the 10th of May 2024, a new 2-disc release of the film was issued, giving the option to watch it in its original full-frame aspect ratio or cropped to 16:9 widescreen. This will be available on Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray, the latter also featuring optional HDR for both aspect ratios.
The concert features Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor at the height of their career. The set list includes huge hits including We Will Rock You, Killer Queen, Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions.
