That’s TV will show the classic British BBC sitcom Steptoe and Son.
Steptoe and Son first appeared in an edition of Comedy Playhouse in 1962. The show follows a hapless father and son as they struggle along in the rag-and-bone trade. The storylines frequently follow son Harold being humiliated and scuppered in his efforts by his mean spirited father Albert. The title roles were played by Harry H Corbett and Wilfred Bramble.
Written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, Steptoe and Son ran in black and white initially, from 1962 for three years. A second run in colour, this time for four years, began in 1970. That’s TV has previously broadcast the Christmas specials, but this time is set to air the series beginning with the first episode of series one.
