It has been announced that Talking Pictures TV will air the 1981 sitcom Take a Letter, Mr Jones starring John Inman and Rula Lenska. The channel has previously shown the series.
Take a Letter, Mr Jones was created by Chesney and Wolfe, (On The Buses, The Rag Trade) and produced by Southern Television. It starred Inman (Are You Being Served) as Graham Jones, a personal secretary to female executive Joan Warner (Lenska). Miriam Margolyes also features as Warner’s housekeeper. It ran for one series of six episodes.
Talking Pictures TV has a history of airing several series from the archives of Southern Television. In addition to this title, they have broadcast such series as That Beryl Marston, Tell Me Another, Worzel Gummidge, Runaround, and Spearhead. Jack Hargreaves’ Out of Town series, unseen on broadcast television for decades, is due to be aired on the channel in February.
