In this episode of The Quo-Cast, Jamie Dyer is joined by Daniel Jordan to discuss Status Quo’s 1999 album Under the Influence. They then discuss the single b-sides from the same era, and why they weren’t included on the album.
About the Album
Under the Influence was released on Eagle Records in March of 1999. The album was the first collection of original material since 1994’s Thirsty Work. It was the last Quo album to feature new songs written by the songwriting partnership of Francis Rossi and Bernie Frost. Three singles were released, including The Way It Goes, Twenty Wild Horses and Little White Lies. The album cover featured an image of Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt pictured on a pub sign, the start of a marketing gimmick which led to the pub tour.
