80s band Tears for Fears, consisting of Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal, have been forced to postpone their forthcoming UK & Ireland arena tour due to “unforeseen health concerns”. The band, who have enjoyed hits such as Everybody Wants To Rule the World, Shout and Mad World, were due to start their 10 date tour on April 27th 2018.
In the statement, issued on the band’s official website, they apologised to their fans and “were extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused.” The dates, including the gig at the Brighton Centre have now been rescheduled to happen in early 2019
Despite the postponement of shows, there has been promise of new material in the meantime. Although their seventh studio album, it would be their first since 2004’s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending. Not many details about the content have been released, but the band hope to release it this autumn.
Details about the rescheduled UK and Ireland tour dates can be found on the band’s website www.tearsforfears.com
