1970s TV drama The Brothers will air on Talking Pictures TV in January 2024.
The Brothers follows the fallout from the death of haulage magnate Robert Hammond. The three sons he had left behind–along with his secretary–are each left an equal share in the business, along with all the potential conflict that brings.
The series ran for 7 series over 4 years, beginning in 1972, on BBC1. There were a total of 92 episodes each with a run-time of 50 minutes.
The Hammond brothers are played by Richard Easton, Robin Chadwick and Glyn Owen (who was replaced by Patrick O’Connell from series 2), while Jean Anderson plays Mary Hammond, Robert’s widow and the boys’ mother. There are plenty of other well-known faces who pop up at various points during the show’s run, including Annette Andre, Colin Baker, Liza Goddard and Mike Pratt in his final role.
