British channel Rewind TV will broadcast the 1970s Science Fiction series The Fantastic Journey, starring Jared Martin, Ike Eisenmann, Carl Franklin and Katie Saylor. No broadcast dates have been revealed yet, but the show has been confirmed as “coming soon”.
What is The Fantastic Journey?
The Fantastic Journey is an American science fiction series that first aired on NBC in 1977. The series spanned 10 episodes in a single season.
The Fantastic Journey follows a group of travellers who become stranded in a mysterious, otherworldly dimension known as the Bermuda Triangle. As they search for a way back home, they encounter strange civilizations, futuristic technology, and unexpected challenges.
The cast featured Jared Martin as Varian, a healer from the future; Carl Franklin as Dr. Fred Walters, a modern-day doctor; and Katie Saylor as Liana, a woman with telepathic abilities. Roddy McDowall also stars as Dr. Jonathan Willoway, a doctor from 1960s.
What is Rewind TV
Rewind TV is a British channel on Sky (190) and Freeview (95). It features several classic television shows and movies from around the world. The schedule has included ITC series including Department S and The Prisoner. Other broadcast shows, some of which haven’t been aired for some time, include The Cuckoo Waltz, Worzel Gummidge Down Under, Monkey and Hancock.
The channel has recently started airing a large amount of classic American programming. Titles include Married With Children, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Fantasy Island and Police Woman.

I remember a time when older American series were rarely seen on British television, especially one-season wonders that fell by the wayside. I gather that this show has been broadcast in the UK before, but not for a number of years.
This short-lived series looks worth a look, especially if you’re into classic Science Fiction. Thank you to Rewind TV for giving this series another chance to find an audience
