PBS has added one of its classic series to Amazon Prime Video in the UK. Season one of the French Chef, hosted by Julia Child, is now available to view on the platform.
The French Chef was originally syndicated on public television between 1963 and 1973, running for 201 episodes over 10 series. It was presented by published cookbook author Julia Child, (1912-2004) who later went on to present other series. She was recently portrayed by Sarah Lancashire in the HBO Max series comedy-drama series Julia. The show ran for two seasons.
The show has rarely been seen on UK television, meaning British viewers aren’t as familiar with Julia Child. This addition gives an opportunity to see the early days of The French Chef with recipes such as Boeuf Bourguignon, Quiche Lorraine and Roast Duck a l’orange. There are twenty five episodes in season one.
This news comes two years after The French Chef was given its own You Tube channel, with several seasons of the show available to stream.
