The Glass Coming to Talking Pictures

1

Talking Pictures TV is to broadcast the 2001 mini-series the glass, starring John Thaw and Sarah Lancashire.

What is The Glass?

The glass was first broadcast in 2001 in six parts. It starred John Thaw CBE comma Sarah Lancashire, Joe McFadden and Paul Jesson.

According to Talking Pictures, it is “the story of a middle-aged tycoon, who decides to hand over his glass making company to his young nephew.”

Talking Pictures and the Ever Growing TV Offerings

Talking pictures TV has continually provided a variety of different classic television programs. Recently we’ve seen the likes of Love for Lydia, Worzel Gummidge and surviving episodes of Jack Hargreaves’ Out of Town. There have also been repeats of Dixon of Dock Green, then Z Cars.

Recently, it was announced that Talking Pictures will be showing the Granada series Victorian Scandals.

Jamie’s Reaction

This is a newer series, but it features a prominent face from the past. It was one of John Thaw’s last TV appearances, so it should be an intriguing watch. Even in the latter part of his career, Thaw was still delivering memorable performances in “Inspector Morse”, Kavanagh QC, and in the TV film adaptation of Goodnight, Mister Tom.

The appearance of Sarah Lancashire in this rarely seen drama should be of interest, thanks to the numerous excellent performances she has given since filming this.

The Glass starts on Sunday the 10th of November on Talking Pictures TV
