Thirteen episodes of The Jack Benny Show have been added to Amazon Prime in the US. This means they’re available as part of a subscription.
Comedian Jack Benny first appeared on radio in 1932, hosting The Jack Benny Program for 23 years until 1955. Benny featured alongside a regular cast including Eddie ‘Rochester’ Anderson, Mary Livingstone, Don Wilson, Phil Harris and Dennis Day. A TV version of the show aired from 1950 until 1965, with a reduced cast. Jack Benny then continued to present specials until his passing in 1974.
The thirteen episodes are predominantly ones which have appeared on budget and public domain DVDs over the last twenty years. However, some of them feature many memorable Benny TV moments, and are worth checking out.
