The Kenny Everett Video Show, starring Radio DJ Kenny Everett, is to get a re-airing on That’s TV. The show previously began airing on the channel, then called That’s TV Gold, in 2021. It has had sporadic airings since then, with a recent post on X by the channel confirming the new airing.
The Kenny Everett Video Show was made by Thames Television and originally aired between 1978 and 1981. It ran for 35 episodes over 4 series and featured a writing team including Everett, Ray Cameron (father of Michael McIntyre) and Barry Cryer. The show would later be reborn on the BBC as The Kenny Everett Television Show in the 1980s.
The show was a mix of sketches and music, with musical guests including Cliff Richard, Suzi Quattro, The Rolling Stones, Darts, Nick Lowe, Steve Gibbons Band, Labi Siffre, The Real Thing, Roxy Music and many more. In addition, there were also regular routines by the Dance troupe Hot Gossip.
That’s TV has been running a large selection of rarely broadcast shows over the past few years. Other shows have included Sorry, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, Benny Hill, Til Death Us Do Part and Sykes.
