Jamie’s Reaction
WOW, YES! I remember paying a lot about ten years ago to see this show, as I am a fan of The Monkees. It’s great to see that’s a UK channel will finally air it after decades off TV.
If you have yet to see this show, you’re in for a wild ride. It may seem like a throwaway show for teenagers, but it was so much more than that. It’s a zainy mix of old comedy mixed with cutting-edge editing techniques. The music may overshadow this show retrospectively, but don’t understate it’s importance.
It’s historically significant for many things, but possibly most well-known as an early innovator of music videos. The musical numbers, while nostalgic, are still great pop tunes too!
The Monkees is coming soon to Rewind TV. We will update you when a confirmed date has been announced.
