Tripper’s Day Headed To Forces TV

Leonard Rossiter’s final sitcom, ‘Tripper’s Day’, is to be broadcast on UK channel Forces TV; thirty five years after it was first shown in 1984.

Rossiter played Norman Tripper, a northern manager of a London supermarket. Produced by Thames Television for ITV, the show was written by Brian Cooke and ran for one series of 6 episodes. The cast also included Pat Ashton, Gordon Gostelow, Philip Bird, Charon Bourke, Paul Clarkson, Liz Crowther, David John, Vicky Licorish and Andrew Paul. A follow-up series called ‘Slinger’s Day’, starring Bruce Forsyth, was broadcast in 1986; it ran for two series.

Forces TV will begin broadcasting ‘Tripper’s Day’ on Friday the 18th of October 2019 at 9pm, part of their ‘Friday Night Comedy Takeover’.
