Two Titles Added to the Warner Archive Collection in the UK for June 2024

The Warner Archive Collection first launched in the US in 2009 as a label for Warner Bros’ vast archive of films from the several libraries it owns. Since then thousands of titles have been released on DVD and Blu-Ray with more added each month. The brand arrived officially in the UK in 2023 with a small selection of starter titles.

This week, Warner Archive announced two new UK titles now available to pre-order on the WB Store and Amazon. Both of them will be released on the 17th of June. They are as follows:

The Ice Pirates. (1984) Director: Stewart Raffill. Genre: Comic Science-Fiction. Starring: Robert Urich, Mary Crosby, Michael D. Roberts. WB Shop | Amazon.

Action Jackson. (1988) Director: Craig R. Baxley Genre: Action Starring: Carl Weathers, Craig T. Nelson, Vanity, Sharon Stone, Thomas F. Wilson. WB Shop | Amazon.

It is great to see two films from the 1980s join the ever-growing list of titles available from the archive in the UK. The Ice Pirates derives from the pre-86 MGM collection that Warner owns, while Action Jackson was distributed by a company now owned by them. Will you be picking any of these up?

Meanwhile in the USA, there were many announcements of new titles coming to the brand; Some of which may have a UK release in the future. These include Act of Violence (1948), The Shining Hour (1938), The Man I Love (1947), Mr and Mrs Smith (1941) and TV shows The Flash (1990-1) and The Alaskans (1959-60). These titles will come out on the 18th of June.
