Warner Archive UK Titles for April 2025

Warner Archive has announced three new titles to its expanding UK collection, which will be available to buy in April. The UK arm of the brand launched in 2023 with a small selection, which is slowly growing over time.

The upcoming titles are as follows:

Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991)

Director: Mark L. Lester. Stars: Dolph Lundgren. Brandon Lee

“Los Angeles gets hit by “black rainstorms” when culture-clashing policemen Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee team up to take down Yakuza mobsters. An action fireball from the director of Commando.” Synopsis from Warner Archive.

Horror Thrillers: 4-Film Collection

Multiple Films: Directors: John Landis, Michael Wadleigh, Tony Scott, Abel Ferrara.

“Classic horror-movie creatures get stylish updates in this quartet of cinematic frights from four visionary directors. Wolfen adds an ecological twist to Whitley Streiber’s urban-blight commentary on a pack of lycanthropes defending its territory. The Hunger brings an art-house aesthetic to Streiber’s revisionist vampire saga. This sexy tale will leave you hungry for more. Innocent Blood defies standard sensibilities by adding a vigilante vampire to the cops-and-mobsters genre and ups the blood count. Body Snatchers combines teenage alienation, body horror and government paranoia with alien invaders.”

Corvette Summer (1978)

Director: Matthew Robbins. Stars. Mark Hamill, Annie Potts

“A cherry Corvette Stingray. A gorgeous girl. And a summer in glittery Las Vegas. What more does a guy need for the wildest, weirdest, funniest, freakiest time of his life?

Mark Hamill and Annie Potts make comedic and romantic sparks fly in a revved-up tale of car-brained Kenny (Hamill), who trails a Corvette that’s mysteriously boosted after his high-school shop class restores it to perfection. The trail leads to Fun Capital, USA, and a ditzy diversion (Potts) whose dream is to become…a hooker? This damsel in distress needs a white knight on a candy-apple, metal-flake, superior-mags, mercury-tubes steed — right, Kenny? Both are in for a summer they’ll never forget.” Synopsis from Warner Archive

Jamie’s Reaction

It’s great to see that Warner Archive UK is still alive. I often see the US original posting half a dozen titles each month, while our offering has been lacklustre by comparison. It’s still this range’s early days, though, and continue to be fairly optimistic.

I’m unfamiliar with any of the films slated for release, but I appreciate their obscurity. I’ve just finished reading a book about 80s action heroes, which featured an analysis of Dolph Lundgren’s career. An opportunity to see Showdown in Little Tokyo fully restored in HD seems too good to miss! I must also applaud putting four films onto one disc, incredible value for the horror fan!

When will these titles be available?

The above titles are due to be released on the 7th of April 2025. They can be pre-ordered from the Warner Archive store, or via online outlets such as Amazon.

Please note that any of the information stated here is subject to change without notice.

What are your thoughts on these upcoming releases? Will you be pre-ordering?
